Lead Tool Technician Mechanic (Solar Energy)

Location: Remote in Texas, USA; travel to customer and construction sites may be required, up to 100%.

What you will do

• Lead planning, delivery, setup, commissioning, calibration, relocation, and demobilization of installation-tool support workshops and field equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment issues using schematics, manuals, and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and training to customers, subcontractors, temporary labor, and internal personnel.
• Develop preventive-maintenance practices, troubleshooting guides, inspection checklists, training materials, and standard work.
• Coordinate with customers, construction teams, Field Operations, Engineering, Service, Quality, Product, and Operations on field improvements.
• Maintain safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses, inspection records, service documentation, inventories, calibration records, and customer communications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience with installation tooling, construction or industrial equipment, field service, equipment maintenance, or a related technical environment.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems, including the ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience independently leading technical work at active construction, manufacturing, industrial, or customer sites with limited supervision.
• Experience delivering technical training, mentoring technicians, and communicating with audiences of varying technical expertise.
• Working knowledge of field safety practices, Job Hazard Analyses, equipment inspections, lockout/tagout, and EH&S requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 100%, work extended or non-standard hours, and support active construction sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with solar tracker installation tools, torque and tensioning equipment, hydraulic power units, electrical controls, calibration systems, or renewable-energy construction equipment.
• Experience operating or supporting forklifts, reach forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms, laser levels, transits, and similar equipment.
• Forklift, aerial-lift, OSHA, first-aid/CPR, or comparable equipment and site-safety certifications.
• Experience with multi-site deployments, customer-facing field service programs, new tool introductions, or equipment standardization.
