Grid Compliance Technical Lead (Wind Power)

What you will do

• Lead grid code reviews, compliance evaluations, gap analyses, and technical risk assessments for wind power plants in the Onshore Americas region.
• Provide technical leadership on grid compliance requirements, interconnection standards, renewable integration, and converter-based technologies.
• Support certification activities and technical engagement with utilities, transmission operators, consultants, regulatory authorities, customers, and industry stakeholders.
• Analyze power system studies covering voltage control, frequency response, fault ride-through, reactive power, harmonics, power quality, dynamic stability, transient performance, and short-circuit behavior.
• Review RMS and EMT models, simulation methodologies, and controller model validation against field measurements and reference data.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings, assumptions, risks, and required performance improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering and 8–10 years of experience in grid compliance, renewable integration, and power system studies.
• Knowledge of grid compliance regulations and experience with ERCOT, NERC, FERC, utilities, ISOs, and RTOs.
• Experience with harmonic studies, load flow analysis, dynamic stability, frequency response, transient studies, fault ride-through, and short-circuit analysis.
• Strong understanding of inverter-based resources and grid integration requirements.
• Working knowledge of PSS®E, PSCAD, and other power system simulation tools.
• Experience with wind turbines, including DFIG or full-converter technologies, or other converter-based units such as PV, HVDC, STATCOM, or energy storage.
