Mechanic (Gas Turbines)

Location: San Diego, California; onsite at the Kearny Mesa facility

Salary: $21.00–$36.05 per hour; starting salary of $26.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 second-shift premium.

What you will do

• Lay out, fabricate, mock up, assemble, align, and combine components for engine packages, trailers, enclosures, and prototype products.
• Route cables and wires, perform electrical terminations, and install hydraulic tubing, piping, conduit, and metal paneling.
• Perform rotating-equipment alignments and braze tubing as required.
• Read and interpret engineering documents, mechanical and electrical diagrams, schematics, blueprints, templates, and work instructions.
• Prepare engine packages for painting, complete cleanup, and fabricate shop or tooling aids.
• Use overhead cranes and material-handling equipment to move package sets and workpieces within the production department.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience using power tools and other equipment for troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
• Understanding of engineering schematics and blueprints.
• Experience using general repair tools and equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and willingness to work any shift, including first or second shift; weekend overtime may be available.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring or expected to require employer-specific sponsorship are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Three to five years of mechanical experience with turbine equipment, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience working on hirify.global packages or building gas turbines and related assemblies.
• ASE certification, UTI or similar training, or an Airframe and Powerplant license.
