Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The position requires in-office work four days every week at 1100 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.

What you will do

• Design and develop new and existing applications, from technical analysis through user acceptance testing.
• Lead complex systems analysis, application design, debugging, testing, and release engineering.
• Build and maintain Java-based microservices, REST APIs, database objects, and high-performance data processing systems.
• Prepare technical and functional specifications, project plans, architecture documentation, charts, tables, and diagrams.
• Coordinate development tasks, vendor software evaluations, application dependency assessments, risk mitigation, and cross-functional technical activities.
• Coach other developers, promote development standards, and recommend technologies and processes that improve application resilience and reduce risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of experience in the offered role or a related software development occupation.
• At least five years of experience with systems analysis, application development, object-oriented programming, web services, SOA, Java or JavaScript, and GitLab-based version control.
• At least five years of experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, REST APIs, microservices, SQL databases, and optimized query development.
• At least five years of experience with CI/CD, Jenkins pipelines, Groovy and shell scripting, OpenShift deployments, JFrog Artifactory, and release coordination.
• At least five years of experience with automated testing, performance testing, application security, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and complex database development.
