Senior Software Engineer - SDET (Fintech)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. The role requires 5–10% travel and is performed in an office setting.

Salary: $112,100–$173,400 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable software components and services.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, implementation plans, and solution fixes.
• Create test plans, configure testing procedures, and identify and resolve defects across multiple features.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, debugging, estimation, and technical documentation.
• Support production systems during on-call rotations by troubleshooting issues and deploying fixes.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, QA, operations, compliance, and other engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience with 2+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Java/J2EE and JavaScript; experience with Angular, Node, Spring, MySQL, and Linux.
• Experience with software development, quality assurance, test automation, and production support.
• Experience in system design, architecture, debugging, code review, test planning, and scalable highly available systems.
• Ability to work from the Austin office at least 3 days per week and travel 5–10% of the time.
• Ability to communicate technical and business concepts, manage priorities, document solutions, and collaborate across functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise-scale web services, microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD environments.
• Experience with Agile development practices and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience using Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development, testing, and productivity.
