TL;DR
Engineering Lab Technician (Aerospace): Conducting environmental and functional testing of aircraft hardware for evaluation, development, verification, and qualification with an accent on electromechanical test setup, safety control, and technical documentation. Focus on monitoring test parameters, analyzing data with MATLAB and NI DIAdem, investigating anomalies, and preparing results for engineering and customer review.
Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. First shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime and weekend support.
Salary: $35.00–$45.00 hourly.

What you will do
- Set up and operate environmental and functional tests for aircraft hardware.
- Configure units under test and associated equipment according to approved procedures, technical specifications, and drawings.
- Inspect test setups for procedural, safety, and configuration compliance.
- Monitor critical test parameters, collect and analyze data, and investigate test anomalies.
- Complete data sheets, generate plots, maintain test logs, and prepare documentation for engineering and customer review.
- Identify and control hazards involving temperature, pressure, rotating equipment, electrical energy, chemicals, noise, and liquid nitrogen.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in testing, electromechanical setup, or data analysis.
- Ability to interpret test specifications, technical drawings, and written procedures.
- Ability to accurately document test activities and communicate technical information in English.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent military experience, trade-school training, technical certifications, or an associate degree may be considered.
- Commitment to maintaining high laboratory and test-site safety standards.
Nice to have
- Experience with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or comparable aerospace and defense standards.
- Experience with endurance, fatigue, limit-load, ultimate-load, thermal, and acceptance testing.
- Familiarity with vibration, pressure-altitude, icing, humidity, sand-and-dust, salt-fog, and thermal-shock testing.
- Experience with data-acquisition systems, sensor interfaces, temperature chambers, electrical test equipment, and laboratory tools.
- Experience with MATLAB, NI DIAdem, and Microsoft Excel.
