Material Planning Lead (Clean Energy)

What you will do

• Drive material requirements planning and kitting for engineering prototypes across Proto, EVT, DVT, and PVT builds.
• Track clear-to-build status across tier-1 and tier-2 contract manufacturers and manage consigned component pipelines.
• Partner with hardware engineering on design-change impacts, revision rollovers, and scrap avoidance.
• Model demand scenarios and size material buffers while balancing availability and working capital.
• Monitor manufacturing yields and scrap rates, adjusting reorder points accordingly.
• Build dashboards and lead weekly material review boards to identify shortages and hold suppliers accountable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations research, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials planning, NPI supply chain, or hardware manufacturing operations.
• Experience with internal prototype builds, outsourced contract manufacturing, consigned materials, inventory reconciliation, and manufacturer liabilities.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, and advanced Excel and data modeling.
• Analytical judgment to balance material availability against financial exposure.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in operations research, supply chain analytics, or engineering management.
• APICS CSCP, CPIM, or ISM CPSM certification.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Arena, Agile, or Omnify.
• Scripting experience with Python, SQL, or R for supply chain automation.
