Mechanical Build & Integration Technician (Autonomous Vehicles)

What you will do

• Assemble and integrate mechanical systems, subassemblies, sensors, actuators, and compute hardware onto autonomous truck platforms.
• Perform mechanical assembly, bracket and mount fabrication support, fluid routing, cable and harness routing, and connector installation.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, checklists, standard operating procedures, quality checks, and test procedures.
• Support troubleshooting, rework, checkout activities, and resolution of build issues with mechanical and electrical engineering teams.
• Identify documentation gaps, recurring part or build issues, and opportunities to improve integration quality and efficiency.
• Document completed work, issues, test results, and procedural deviations using PLM and document control tools.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, vehicle integration, robotics, automation, equipment assembly, field service, or a related technical environment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly procedures, and technical documentation accurately.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, torque tools, crimping tools, meters, and basic shop or production equipment.
• Ability to perform mechanical assembly, cable and harness routing, basic electrical troubleshooting, and system-level checks.
• Strong communication, organization, reliability, and commitment to safety, quality, and consistency.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move parts, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Autonomous vehicle or automotive industry experience.
• Experience integrating sensor and compute hardware on vehicle platforms.
• Familiarity with PLM tools and document revision control.
• Basic fabrication skills, including drilling, tapping, and bracket modification.
