Location: Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; New York, NY; Denver Metro, CO; or Las Vegas, NV. Full-time position with up to 20% travel and occasional overnight stays. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Salary: $101,000–$141,000 annually, with the final amount varying by location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

What you will do
- Lead acoustics or audiovisual design efforts for building projects across multiple market sectors.
- Perform engineering analysis, calculations, system design, implementation oversight, and technical design reviews.
- Coordinate acoustic and AV requirements with multidisciplinary design teams, including specifications and integrated project solutions.
- Manage project planning, budgets, schedules, design progress, quality control, and client requirements.
- Communicate technical concepts to clients and project teams through narratives, diagrams, presentations, and professional documentation.
- Support bidding and construction administration through site inspections, measurements, commissioning, and testing while training and mentoring staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 14 years of experience in building design consulting; 16 or more years preferred.
- Degree relevant to acoustics or audiovisual design, such as acoustics, architectural engineering, electrical engineering, electroacoustics, sound recording, physics, architecture, music, computer science, or a related field with demonstrated relevant coursework or experience.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including acoustics, vibration, noise control, digital signal processing, electroacoustics, electrical and digital/analog signal principles, video systems, IT networking, and sound system calculations.
- Proficiency with industry-standard acoustic or audiovisual engineering software and tools, including sound level meters, vibration analyzers, acoustic and electroacoustic modeling, digital signal processing software, BIM, and 2D/3D modeling tools.
- Ability to lead projects, collaborate across disciplines, communicate clearly, solve problems, and train and mentor less experienced staff.
- Ability to work from one of the listed U.S. office locations and travel up to 20%; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- AVIXIA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or another industry or manufacturer certification.
- Experience with Matlab, Max/MSP, Rhinoceros 3D, SketchUp, or comparable specialist tools.
