AV Installation Superintendent (Audiovisual Technology)

Location: Kenilworth, NJ, USA, and Manhattan, New York, NY, USA. Onsite field work, frequent local travel to client job sites, occasional air travel, overtime, weekends, and construction-site work are required.

Salary: $42–$52 per hour.

What you will do

• Direct onsite installation activity and coordinate with project managers, contractors, clients, subcontractors, and union trades.
• Lead and delegate work to multiple installation crews while monitoring progress, schedules, and field operations.
• Supervise the physical installation of audiovisual, networking, and other technology systems across client locations.
• Maintain jobsite quality control, resolve discrepancies, address hazards, and ensure work meets established standards.
• Read functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams, build and wire custom panels, and perform advanced fiber-optic installation, termination, and testing.
• Provide technical assistance and training to installation technicians while maintaining tools, materials, vehicles, documentation, and project records.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as an installation technician or in a related industry.
• Advanced audiovisual installation skills and familiarity with audio, video, and networking equipment.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical concepts and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
• AVIXA CTS Certification and OSHA 30 Certificate are required.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of residence and compliance with insurance requirements.
• Ability to work independently on construction sites, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, use stairs, and lift or move materials up to 40 pounds.
