AI Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Remote across Latin America; the client is based in Mexico City.

What you will do

• Design and engineer robust machine learning features in Databricks for AI models and complex business challenges.
• Implement metadata standards covering descriptions, keys, lineage, ownership, tags, and data lifecycle.
• Build reusable and scalable data architecture patterns across the organization.
• Maintain deployment pipelines, bundle validation, pull request documentation, job monitoring, and production reliability.
• Apply FinOps practices to optimize cloud resource usage within the Databricks ecosystem.
• Ensure consistency between training and production environments and maintain a single source of truth for ML models.

Requirements

• Remote work from Latin America is required.
• Hands-on experience with feature engineering, data engineering, and AI model deployment using Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
• Deep familiarity with naming conventions, metadata standards, and scalable data architecture.

Nice to have

• Feature Store certification at Fundamentals or Expert level.
• Experience with financial data.
• Experience developing AI agents or agentic infrastructure, including Mosaic AI Agent Framework, agent orchestration, or MCP.
