Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Alliances (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; West Coast preferred. Periodic travel of approximately 10–15% is required.

Base salary: $210,000–$300,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and manage a team of attorneys supporting strategic alliances and partner programs.
• Negotiate and draft complex licensing, channel, and partnership agreements.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on business initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
• Identify legal risks, assess business impact, and propose practical solutions that keep deals moving.
• Partner with alliances, operations, finance, executives, and partner leadership to establish processes and drive deal closure.
• Communicate complex legal issues clearly in written and verbal formats.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 3 years in an in-house leadership role.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex channel and partner agreements, including cloud marketplace contracting structures such as AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience managing 2–5 attorneys in a player-coach model and scaling legal resources in a high-growth environment.
• Strong business acumen, risk assessment, executive communication, and stakeholder relationship-building skills.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, processes, efficiency, and business outcomes.
