Global PubSec Transaction Attorney (Public Sector)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas or Washington, D.C.; in-person interview may be required at a hirify.global office or hub.

Salary: $150,000–$207,000 annual salary for Washington, D.C.-based hires; compensation may vary by work location.

What you will do

• Advise on and negotiate federal, state, local, and quasi-government commercial agreements.
• Support public sector transaction strategy across the U.S., APAC, and EMEA.
• Draft and negotiate MSAs, order forms, amendments, DPAs, security exhibits, procurement terms, and related documents.
• Resolve commercial, legal, privacy, data protection, security, and compliance issues with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Build scalable contracting processes, playbooks, templates, approval workflows, and post-award compliance handoffs.
• Evaluate RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and procurement materials while providing risk-based recommendations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience, including substantial public sector transaction work.
• Strong experience negotiating U.S. federal and/or state and local government contracts.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud services, cybersecurity, software, or technology procurement.
• Knowledge of government procurement concepts, public sector compliance constraints, and common deal structures.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, issue-spotting, judgment, responsiveness, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with APAC or EMEA public sector or regulated commercial contracting.
• Experience at a technology company, cloud provider, or fast-moving environment.
• Familiarity with global data protection, cross-border contracting, export controls, sanctions, or public sector compliance frameworks.
• Experience creating legal enablement materials or scaling contract operations.
