Drivetrain Systems Simulation Engineer

Location: Santa Maria R&E Center, Monterrey, Mexico; onsite role with up to 20% domestic and international travel. Domestic relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and validation of mechanical drivetrain hardware.
• Build, improve, and maintain simulation models using in-house and commercial tools.
• Define component and system test plans and validation conditions.
• Apply standard work and automation processes to run simulations efficiently.
• Participate in design reviews and communicate simulation results to cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Intermediate knowledge of drivetrain systems design, development, modeling, or simulation.
• Strong technical, analytical, project management, and communication skills.
• Advanced spoken English and strong written and spoken Spanish are required.
• Ability to manage concurrent assignments, identify root causes, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and develop practical system integration solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Romax or Transmission3D.
• Finite element analysis experience and the ability to interpret 2D drivetrain component drawings.
• Knowledge of powertrain, hydraulic, transmission, and gear systems.
• Experience with design of experiments, optimization, robust design, Python, or MATLAB scripting.
