Quality Control Engineer (Automotive): Coordinating automotive suppliers to ensure high-quality powertrain components, capacity readiness, and compliance with quality requirements with an accent on supplier audits, APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness. Focus on analyzing supplier performance, managing corrective actions, evaluating PFMEA and DFMEA deliverables, and driving process capability improvements through Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.

Location: Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico; onsite supplier and manufacturing quality activities.

What you will do

  • Coordinate automotive suppliers to monitor performance, capacity readiness, delivery, and compliance.
  • Guide supplier quality improvement initiatives using process analysis, value stream mapping, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Support new product launches through APQP activities and launch readiness reviews.
  • Conduct supplier process and product audits and maintain audit schedules and quality system records.
  • Manage supplier quality issues, including investigations, containment actions, dispositions, and long-term corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier metrics such as DPPM, quality complaints, capacity readiness, and on-time shipment performance; review PPAP submissions and technical quality deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • English at C1 level required.
  • Spanish at C2 level required.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, launch readiness, capacity planning, supplier audits, risk assessment, and commodity risk assessment.
  • Skills in technical reporting, presentations, documentation management, data visualization, meeting facilitation, analysis, problem solving, decision making, project management, and planning.
