R&D - Mechanical Design Engineer (High-Voltage Equipment)

Location: Hybrid in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico

What you will do

• Design complex mechanical modules and parts for high-voltage circuit-breakers from concept through series production.
• Create CAD models and detailed design concepts, optimize products, and apply design rules and quality standards.
• Plan, define, execute, and oversee qualification tests for high-voltage components, including First Article Inspections.
• Analyze test results, prepare reports, and coordinate follow-up testing with quality teams and internal or external laboratories.
• Support initial series production, manufacturing ramp-up, and resolution of development issues.
• Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, and project management teams while following EHS and quality management protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in product design and development, preferably in high-voltage equipment.
• Experience with mechanical engineering design, high-voltage equipment principles, PLM, and design for manufacturability.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, specifically ProE/Creo, and PLM systems such as Agile PLM.
• Problem-solving, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and technical communication skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
