Patient Care Tech-General Medicine 16W Full-time Nights

Location: 251 E. Huron, Chicago, IL, United States. Onsite night-shift role.

Salary: USD 24.26 per hour

What you will do

• Support registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake and output, blood glucose, cardiac monitoring, oxygen saturation, and EKGs.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy, catheter and heplock discontinuation, dressing changes, and other delegated procedures.
• Provide personal care, feeding, mobility assistance, newborn care, and pre- and post-operative support.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies, initiate basic life support, transport patients, and report changes in condition to the RN.
• Maintain a clean, safe, stocked, and operational patient-care unit.

Requirements

• CNA certification or current enrollment in a nursing program with completed basic clinical rotations.
• American Heart Association CPR recognition or BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• High school diploma required.
• Unit-based recognition for capillary blood glucose monitoring and successful completion of mandatory health and safety training.
• Healthcare-setting experience and an ability to work with patients, families, nursing staff, and medical staff are preferred.
• An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
