Medical Assistant (Phlebotomy/Epic)

Location: Onsite in Northbrook, Illinois, United States. Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Closed for lunch from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Salary: $20.45–$25.56 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide clinical and front-office support for patients at the health center.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and current patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms, clean and sterilize instruments, administer medications and injections, and perform laboratory tests.
• Operate EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, assist at the front desk, and order medical supplies.

Requirements

• National certification in Medical Assisting from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed, passed hands-on externship; fully online courses are not accepted.
• Current Basic Life Support certification with hands-on training from AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider is required.
• Strong phlebotomy skills are required.
• State Lab Certificate required for Nevada positions.
• CMA certification from an approved recognized certifying body is required for South Carolina positions.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred; experience with PCOT and Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
