DDC Controls Technician Intern

What you will do

• Assist with installing control panels, sensors, actuators, field devices, and building automation equipment under senior technician supervision.
• Pull, label, route, and terminate control wiring according to company standards and applicable electrical codes.
• Perform device checkout, testing, point-to-point testing, startup support, and commissioning activities.
• Help identify and resolve wiring, communication, and device-related issues using diagnostic software, test meters, and troubleshooting tools.
• Document installation progress through daily reports, as-built drawings, redline markups, and project notes.
• Gain exposure to DDC programming, BAS graphics, network communications, controls integration, and project collaboration.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an associate degree program in HVAC, HVACR, Building Automation, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
• Entering the second year of an applicable degree program by Summer 2027, or seeking practical internship experience in building controls.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, controls, or related technical concepts through coursework, labs, or projects.
• Ability to read technical documentation, solve problems, learn technical concepts, and work in office and field environments.
• Ability to lift, carry, and work with tools and equipment in mechanical rooms and active construction sites.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally for project assignments.
