Registered Nurse, RN - Psychiatry Unit

Location: Tufts Medical Center; onsite clinical role requiring prolonged standing and walking, patient transfers, emergency response, and exposure to clinical hazards.

Salary: $43.01–$70.95 per hour based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized psychiatric patient and family care from admission through discharge.
• Provide nursing procedures, treatments, medication administration, health education, and ongoing assessment of patient responses.
• Coordinate care plans, discharge planning, interdisciplinary meetings, and communication among patients, families, nurses, physicians, and case managers.
• Apply evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care.
• Participate in patient safety, quality improvement, performance improvement, and regulatory initiatives.
• Support professional development, delegate responsibilities, mentor staff and students, and may assume charge nurse functions.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS may be required depending on the department and care provided.
• Ability to provide care across the lifespan and interpret age-specific patient responses.
• Ability to manage patient care according to unit guidelines, hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
• Must maintain licensure and comply with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
