MEP Project Manager III (Data Center)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey; hybrid work with a minimum of 4 days per week at various sites in the NY/NJ area

Salary: $60–$65 per hour on W2

hirify.global is hiring for a 12-month contract project management role supporting critical infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical, electrical, and critical infrastructure CAPEX projects through scope definition, design, execution, commissioning, and handover.
• Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, status reports, financial updates, and change management documentation.
• Manage procurement activities, including RFP development, bid evaluation, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
• Coordinate internal engineering, data center operations, MEP consultants, construction vendors, and commissioning service providers.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, UPS, generators, PDUs, controls, fire/life safety systems, and related infrastructure.
• Support regulatory compliance, safety requirements, SLA/KPI commitments, sustainability certifications, and operational handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• 5–10+ years of experience managing MEP or mission-critical construction projects in data centers or similar environments.
• Experience coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning, vendors, and operations stakeholders.
• Experience managing CAPEX budgets, project schedules, risks, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Availability for hybrid work at least 4 days per week at sites in the NY/NJ area.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting projects in financial firms or live financial data center environments.
• Experience with LEED, WELL, WiredScore, or SmartScore certification goals.
