Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Livingston, NJ; New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Bellevue, WA. Travel to various data center sites is required.

Base salary: $157,000–$210,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits based on eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering design for new data center facilities, build-to-suit projects, self-performed projects, and tenant fit-outs.
• Develop scalable, repeatable electrical solutions for hyperscale and high-density data centers.
• Support whitespace fit-outs by creating electrical layouts, validating load capacities, coordinating with IT and operations, and applying company standards.
• Review consultant and contractor drawings, specifications, striping plans, and shop drawings for compliance and balanced operation.
• Perform short-circuit, coordination, arc-flash, load-flow, and related technical studies.
• Participate in site due diligence, factory witness testing, inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Professional Engineering license is preferred.
• 7+ years of data center engineering experience with a record of completing data center design projects.
• Strong knowledge of substations, emergency generators, UPS systems, lithium-ion battery plants, and fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with EPMS and/or SCADA systems, including controls sequences and monitoring protocols.
• Experience with large-scale, high-density data centers and cloud infrastructure, plus strong communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Applicants must have US work authorization that does not require current or future company sponsorship and must meet applicable US export-control access requirements.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as Uptime Institute or BICSI.
• Professional Engineering license.
