Senior Software Engineer (IAM)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Annual base salary: CAD 136,000–187,000, plus potential equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own feature areas end to end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Design and deliver production-ready features across the access governance platform with strong attention to correctness, reliability, and performance.
• Develop clean, tested, and maintainable software and resolve bugs and customer-reported issues.
• Partner with product development, QA, and site reliability engineering teams to scope and deliver development and deployment work.
• Influence technical alignment across engineering teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with independent ownership of complex production features.
• Experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent JVM/cloud-native languages.
• Experience designing systems for enterprise reliability, scalability, security, multi-tenancy, high availability, audit logging, and RBAC/ABAC.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, access management, or identity governance products.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, finite state machines, or approval and routing systems.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, and observability tooling.
