Senior Software Engineer, Cluster Scalability

Location: Remote in British Columbia or Ontario, Canada

Salary: $158,000–$220,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Build core infrastructure and tools for scaling hirify.global workloads beyond a single node.
• Design and implement data partitioning, data movement, and dynamic-scaling features.
• Develop distributed protocols for placing and moving data without disrupting workloads.
• Improve horizontal scaling, cluster elasticity, workload execution, and system performance.
• Resolve bugs, contribute to upcoming releases, conduct code reviews, and participate in design reviews.
• Lead new feature development and mentor engineers as the role progresses.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building distributed systems.
• Production-level C++ development experience with a large user base and rigorous code quality.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, and architecture.
• Degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of modern computer architecture and system internals.
• Experience or research in high-performance networking, performance tuning, distributed systems, observability, or resiliency.
