Manager, Software Engineering (Java/.NET)

Location: Remote based in the United States

Annual base salary: $150,000–$185,000, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead one or more product development teams through technical design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing delivery.
• Manage development priorities, requirements, timelines, and dependencies using Jira and coordinate with Product Management.
• Plan resources and capacity across teams, resolving gaps, conflicts, and competing priorities.
• Partner with Product Management, Technical Leads, Quality Assurance, Cloud Operations, and other technical teams.
• Contribute to roadmaps, milestones, delivery plans, and tracking of progress, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Coach and mentor developers while championing consistent development practices and AI-driven engineering improvements.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience managing a software development team, preferably in a SaaS, enterprise technology, or cloud environment.
• Experience with Java and/or .NET platforms and modern CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, resource planning, capacity management, and delivery execution.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, dependencies, and timelines through completion.
• Cross-functional experience with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and other technical teams.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular, JavaScript, JQuery, or related technologies.
• Experience supporting SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, or cloud transformation initiatives.
• Experience with AI-enabled development tools or AI-driven engineering practices.
• Experience with the hirify.global Civic Platform.
