Software Engineering Manager (AI/Cloud)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office in the United States.

Salary: USD 137,000–315,000 annual base salary in North Carolina, with possible variable incentives.

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership for a diverse team designing, developing, and delivering complex system software and tools.
• Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, budgets, roadmaps, and quality standards across multiple projects.
• Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while identifying process improvements, cost efficiencies, and risks.
• Collaborate with program managers, technical leaders, executives, vendors, and AI experts to resolve issues and incorporate AI innovations.
• Lead hiring, coaching, performance management, career development, and team growth.
• Provide technical guidance and communicate progress, priorities, milestones, and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• Typically 7–10 years of experience, including 0–2 years of people management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud applications and related technologies.
• Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building, and conflict resolution.
• Advanced project management skills covering time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, presentation, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
