Senior Mechanical Engineer – New Product Development

Location: Onsite in Shakopee, Minnesota, or Minneapolis, Minnesota, Monday through Friday. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; no relocation.

Salary: $94,046–$137,933 per year, plus eligibility for an annual incentive plan.

What you will do

• Understand product requirements and develop mechanical solutions for printing and personalization systems.
• Use theoretical calculations, analytical methods, and engineering judgment to develop concepts and solve technical problems.
• Create and review part drawings, 3D solid models, and bills of material.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing principles across injection-molded plastics, sheet metal, machined parts, rubber molding, power transmission, motors, lasers, and sensors.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with engineers, designers, suppliers, and cross-functional project teams.
• Prototype, test, iterate, and improve designs while providing project, people, and team leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5 or more years of product development experience.
• Experience with 3D solid modeling and general PC applications.
• Unrestricted authorization to work lawfully in the United States is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work hands-on in a highly interactive team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD, mechanical and electromechanical products, injection-molded plastic parts, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink, power transmission design, and products intended for volume production.
• Mechanical aptitude, hands-on skills, and a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
