Senior Engineer, Applications & Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Bedford, Massachusetts, United States; primarily on-site with occasional work-from-home flexibility

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Support the development, qualification, and implementation of ALD, PVD, and PECVD coating applications and process capabilities.
• Optimize processes and transfer new products and technologies into manufacturing.
• Design, fabricate, and qualify fixtures, tooling, assemblies, and supporting hardware using SolidWorks.
• Create engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, work instructions, and engineering change documentation.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to improve manufacturability, product quality, and manufacturing readiness.
• Support prototyping, testing, validation, equipment modifications, supplier collaboration, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in applications, design, manufacturing, process engineering, or new product development.
• Experience with vacuum technology and product development or manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical design principles.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work primarily on-site in Bedford, Massachusetts; travel is limited to less than 10%.
