Sr Mechanical Design Engineer (Mechatronics)

Location: Jackson, Michigan, United States; onsite role

Salary: $70,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Research, plan, design, and modify mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
• Direct and coordinate fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair activities.
• Resolve manufacturing, assembly, outsourcing, warranty, and rectification issues.
• Guide manufacturing and assembly teams during initial new-product builds.
• Research competitive offerings and recommend technologies that improve product positioning and market competitiveness.
• Work with management, production, and marketing to assess engineering feasibility, resources, costs, and market demand.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, five years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination.
• Very strong mechatronics background.
• Experienced SolidWorks user.
• Packaging equipment background required.
• OEM equipment manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong multitasking skills.
