Sr Platform Engineer (Linux/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid, with four days per week in the office in Overland Park, Kansas; Chicago, Illinois; Kansas City, Missouri; or New York, New York, United States.

Salary: $131,750–$170,500 base salary annually for US locations, plus potential incentive compensation and equity participation.

What you will do

• Manage and improve Linux-based infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Design, deploy, and maintain on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.
• Develop system-level software, middleware, and APIs for internal platforms and services.
• Automate infrastructure workflows with Python, Bash, and configuration management tools.
• Build RPM packages and internal software repositories while supporting CI/CD and platform integration.
• Diagnose complex OS, network, and container-runtime issues; implement hardening, secure communications, access integration, and operational documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration and infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Production Kubernetes experience, preferably with bare-metal or on-premises environments.
• Production experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong Python and Bash scripting skills and knowledge of Linux internals, kernel tuning, and performance diagnostics.
• Experience with SaltStack, Puppet, or Ansible; observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki; and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, NTP/PTP, DHCP, and related infrastructure services.

Nice to have

• RHCE or LFCE certification.
• Experience with containerd, Docker, registry management, GitOps, ArgoCD, or Flux.
• Knowledge of CIS benchmarks, STIGs, security compliance, regulated environments, or low-latency systems.
