Sr. Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas, with a hybrid work arrangement

Annual base salary: $124,600–$231,400 USD

What you will do

• Design, build, operate, upgrade, and retire infrastructure across on-premises data centers and public cloud environments.
• Own and evolve Kubernetes platforms, including cluster lifecycle, networking, ingress, storage, virtualization, secrets, identity, policy, observability, and cost visibility.
• Operate and maintain CNCF and open-source infrastructure in production, including troubleshooting, automation, upgrades, documentation, and internal enablement.
• Design and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines while improving software developer experience and deployment workflows.
• Build secure platform capabilities for policy enforcement, workload identity, OIDC integrations, secrets management, governance, and observability.
• Support AI/ML infrastructure and services, reduce cloud and Kubernetes waste, and collaborate with software and IT teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent training.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and cloud-native platform experience across on-premises and public cloud environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, GitOps, open-source operations, networking, and Linux, Windows, and macOS administration.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Go, Python, Groovy, or Java, plus shell and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with platforms and tools including AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Kustomize, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, Vault, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

Nice to have

• AWS, CNCF Kubernetes, CKA, CKAD, or CKS certifications.
• Experience with Talos Linux and AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
