Communications Manager - B2B (Contractor)

Location: Paris or London; the role involves primarily face-to-face collaboration in offices.

What you will do

• Build and deliver Proton's first dedicated B2B PR function, including strategy, narratives, and success metrics.
• Expand coverage into business, technology trade, vertical, and national business media.
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, podcasters, and newsletters covering business technology, CIO/CISO topics, procurement, and European tech policy.
• Develop B2B PR initiatives with product marketing, affiliates, content, video, and events teams.
• Pitch research- and data-driven stories, position executives as experts, and respond to B2B media inquiries.
• Support product launches and partnerships while securing executive speaking and media opportunities.

Requirements

• At least five years of B2B communications or PR experience with demonstrated success securing relevant media coverage.
• Expertise in reaching business decision-makers and end users through B2B communications.
• Experience building journalist relationships and acting as a company spokesperson.
• Ability to develop strategic campaigns in an international, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong command of technology, security, and privacy topics, with the ability to address difficult media questions credibly.
• Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Nice to have

• Experience working in-house at a technology scale-up, at a B2B-focused PR agency, or as a business technology journalist.
