VP of PR/External Communications Lead

What you will do

• Own and run company-level external communications.
• Protect and grow the company’s reputation through a globally coordinated PR strategy.
• Take the defined strategic narrative to market and improve visibility in the US.
• Build thought leadership programs and develop a strong spokesperson bench.
• Establish the PR operating model, including playbooks, message houses, editorial calendars, and perception studies.
• Manage crisis communications, agencies, and large-scale budgets.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology PR with senior leadership experience, ideally in B2B, developer, enterprise, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience building and leading distributed PR teams across regions, with proven results in the US.
• Track record of taking a defined strategic narrative to market rather than focusing only on press-release production.
• Experience with thought leadership, spokesperson development, and crisis communications.
• Experience managing agencies and budgets at scale.
• Ability to work fluently with technical and developer-facing audiences and communicate an AI-transition story.

Nice to have

• Experience in an AI or developer-tools company during a positioning shift.
• Existing relationships with tier-1 US technology media.
• Comfort operating across a US/Europe time split.
