Lead AI Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Hybrid-flex; presence in the office at least 2 days per week. Locations include Bratislava, Slovakia and Brno, Czech Republic.

Salary: €4,400–€6,600 gross per month in Slovakia, or CZK 131,975–197,966 gross per month in the Czech Republic. An annual range of CZK 1,583,700–2,375,600 is also stated.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and integrate scalable agentic AI solutions and the backend infrastructure required for production deployment.
• Translate complex business needs into technical AI requirements with product, data science, and engineering teams.
• Select technologies for cloud and on-premise deployments, optimizing scalability, performance monitoring, and cost.
• Build testing, monitoring, and evaluation pipelines for prompts, context handling, and agent performance.
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices while mentoring peers on AI automation technologies.

Requirements

• PhD in GenAI or a strong GenAI research background, including security, privacy, robustness, and substantial exposure to GenAI tools and techniques.
• At least 5 years of software engineering or data science experience, including 2+ years designing, building, and deploying agentic AI solutions in production.
• Deep expertise in full-stack Python, FastAPI or Flask, SQL/NoSQL databases, LangGraph, LangSmith, MCP, prompt engineering, context engineering, harness engineering, RAG, LLMs, fine-tuning, and machine learning.
• Experience integrating AI agents into production systems, with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of Snowflake or Databricks and modern data engineering stacks.
• Experience with statistical modeling, predictive ML, rigorous offline and online evaluation, LLM-as-a-judge systems, and RAG quality metrics.
• Experience with prompt experimentation, LoRA/QLoRA, preference optimization, model performance and cost analytics, interpretability, and GenAI debugging.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Visual Studio, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, or Cursor.
