TL;DR
Lead Front-end Architect (React/Next.js): Defining and building scalable front-end architectures for complex digital platforms, from pre-sales and solution design through production, with an accent on headless and composable architectures, API-first delivery, and technical leadership. Focus on designing reusable components, guiding client-facing technical decisions, maintaining CI/CD and cloud platforms, and responsibly integrating AI tools into development.

What you will do
- Own the front-end architecture of complex digital projects and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Create technical designs, epics and development plans while identifying risks, dependencies and missing requirements.
- Develop complex components, establish engineering standards and contribute hands-on code throughout delivery.
- Support pre-sales through workshops, solution design, estimations and client presentations.
- Coach developers through mentoring, code reviews and technical guidance while collaborating with project managers, designers, architects and account managers.
- Improve development platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker environments and cloud deployments, including responsible use of AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
Requirements
- Fluent English and Dutch required; French is a plus.
- Strong experience defining front-end architectures and contributing to technical quotations and estimations.
- Professional experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and Tailwind CSS; TypeScript is preferred.
- Knowledge of headless and composable architectures, headless CMS platforms such as Contentful and Strapi, Shopify and GraphQL or REST APIs.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, cloud deployments, Vercel, unit testing and accessibility or performance testing.
- Ability to translate requirements into technical delivery plans and provide technical leadership to delivery teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Drupal front-end theming, Vue.js, Node.js, Builder.io, Storybook, shadcn/ui, Vite, Webpack, Bootstrap or n8n.
- Experience with Shopify Hydrogen, Liquid or theme extensions.
