Commercial Lines Placement Supervisor - Small/Mid (California)

Location: Costa Mesa, California, United States; on-site presence required. Travel up to 25%.

Base compensation: $110,000–$149,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage carrier placement specialists, support team development, and drive performance against team goals.
• Partner with Client Advisors and Account Management to develop marketing strategies and execute placement for new and renewing commercial accounts.
• Maintain and develop insurance carrier relationships for the West Division, with a focus on strategic carrier partners.
• Analyze submissions, risk characteristics, exposures, hazards, policies, and contracts while ensuring compliance with underwriting authority and state regulations.
• Lead new-business and renewal remarketing, including insurer submissions, carrier negotiations, and communication with insured clients.
• Improve placement operations through KPIs, process optimization, automation, and adoption of AURIS and EPIC.

Requirements

• Active property and casualty insurance license required.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in insurance and/or financial services.
• Experience managing teams, implementing process improvements, and driving operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of California markets, clients, competitors, underwriting, and insurance placement.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, presentation, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with an on-site presence in Costa Mesa, California, and travel of up to 25%.
