Senior Catastrophe Claims Specialist (Property Claims)

Location: Full-time field work based in Bloomington, Illinois and surrounding areas, with extensive travel and deployment throughout the United States. Work is approximately 90% field and 10% office.

Base salary: $77,600–$106,700 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Respond to catastrophe deployment directives and travel to areas requiring claims assistance.
• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle personal and commercial property claims.
• Conduct physical property inspections, assess damage, and prepare written estimates according to policy provisions.
• Contact insureds and relevant parties, collect information and recorded statements, and explain the claims process.
• Support claims offices during non-deployment periods and maintain on-call availability.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive an automobile.
• Part 107 drone license required for roof inspections; the license must be obtained within five months of the start date and the exam must be passed within three attempts.
• Physical ability to walk, reach, climb, crawl, access two-plus-story structures, and work in unfavorable weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, and climb ladders weighing up to 80 pounds when required for property claims.
• Availability to work beyond normal business hours and follow a schedule of 10 consecutive 12-hour days followed by four days off.
