TL;DR
Cryogenics Engineer (Quantum Computing): Testing, validating, troubleshooting, and refining dilution refrigerators and cryogenic subsystems with an accent on high-vacuum systems, cryogen handling, and customer operations. Focus on developing rigorous test plans, solving uptime and safety risks, and applying pressure-safety practices to helium, liquid nitrogen, and high-vacuum systems.

Location: Singapore; must be able to work on-site in Denver, Colorado

Company

hirify.global builds dilution refrigerators and cryogenic hardware for quantum computing laboratories.

What you will do

  • Develop comprehensive experiments and test plans to validate cryogenic products and improve performance.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and assess advanced cryogenic systems, including user experience and uptime risks.
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, manufacturing, and product teams to refine system designs.
  • Support customers with root-cause analysis, issue resolution, installation assistance, and long-term operation.
  • Document testing and inspection procedures to establish consistent customer-support standards.
  • Apply pressure-safety, relief-sizing, and oxygen-deficiency hazard practices to systems using helium mixtures, liquid nitrogen, and high vacuum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, or operating cryogenic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics at cryogenic temperatures, and low-temperature material properties.
  • Hands-on experience with high-vacuum systems, helium leak detection, and safe handling of liquid nitrogen and liquid helium.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or ANSYS.
  • Ability to work on-site in Denver, Colorado.

Nice to have

  • Experience with dilution refrigerators, ADRs, helium-3 systems, or helium-3/helium-4 gas handling.
  • Experience with brazing, welding, indium seals, or other cryogenic joining and sealing methods.
  • Background in quantum computing, scientific instrumentation, or superconducting hardware.
  • Experience with pressure-system design under ASME or equivalent codes.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field and experience in a high-growth, venture-backed startup.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work alongside scientists, engineers, manufacturing specialists, and customer-success professionals.
  • Contribute to products used by leading quantum computing groups worldwide.
  • Operate in a fast-moving, venture-backed environment with independent ownership of results.
  • Occasional on-site customer travel may be required.
