Senior Hardware Network Fabric Development Engineer (Signal Integrity)

Location: Onsite at an HPE office in the United States; the stated salary range applies to Texas and Wisconsin.

Salary: USD 119,500–275,000 annual base salary in Texas and Wisconsin. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Design and assess 100+ gigabit/s electrical and optical links and memory interface channels.
• Create simulation models and plan and execute simulation suites.
• Correlate simulation models with measured laboratory results.
• Develop PCB signal integrity design rules, stackup recommendations, and connector pinouts.
• Lead hands-on testing and debugging of electrical issues to identify root causes and drive resolution.
• Create technical documentation, test plans, and test reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in high-performance electrical design.
• Experience with Ethernet or InfiniBand components and systems and their key performance metrics.
• Experience with signal integrity design concepts and analysis.
• Experience using electrical design tools such as Ansoft, HFSS, and Allegro.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• RF and microwave design experience.
• 3D modeling experience with tools such as HFSS.
• Experience with a scripting language such as Perl, Bash, or Python.
