Natural Gas Decompression Technician (Natural Gas)

Location: Midland, Texas, United States. Onsite field work with exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, heights, and extended periods on foot.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor mobile refrigeration units, natural gas compressors, dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, and gas measurement systems.
• Inspect equipment, identify malfunctions, perform minor maintenance, and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Read and record pressure, temperature, operating hours, fuel consumption, water levels, and other operating conditions.
• Depressurize equipment and calculate, design, and maintain proper flow, temperature, and pressure levels.
• Use hand tools to repair mechanical and electrical equipment and develop working knowledge of fleet equipment.
• Monitor onsite safety and environmental requirements and support incident response and investigations when needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of related experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience with CNG PRS systems or similar high-compression systems using Swagelok valves and regulators.
• High school diploma, skilled labor certificate, or equivalent qualification.
• Mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of electronics and electrical equipment, and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, lift 25 pounds up to 10 times per shift, use ladders and safety harnesses, and complete required safety training.
