Operations Specialist (Natural Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite at Tennessee Gas Pipeline Compressor Station 245 in West Winfield, New York; must live within a 30-minute response or travel time

Pay: USD $32.08–$44.63 per hour

What you will do

• Operate and maintain natural gas compressor units, engines, generators, pumps, valves, cooling systems, and pipeline facilities.
• Start, stop, and adjust equipment to maintain operating parameters and meet customer demand.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine service, maintenance, limited repairs, and facility upkeep.
• Lead pipeline pigging activities, assist with in-line inspection, and perform one-call locates and pipeline damage prevention activities.
• Complete DOT-covered tasks, work procedures, reports, and operational documentation.
• Respond to emergent work, rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and required call-outs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of gas compressor and transmission pipeline operations, operating costs, and natural gas pipeline equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and other technical diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe work practices around high-pressure systems and applicable company, regulatory, and tariff requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, computer skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, kneel, bend, and use hand tools.
