TL;DR
Catalyst Partnerships Manager (Education): Developing and managing partnerships, projects, and educational pathways with schools, colleges, public bodies, universities, and third-sector organisations with an accent on widening participation, learner transitions, and evidence-based evaluation. Focus on building innovative partnership models, coordinating stakeholders, analysing data, managing budgets, and producing reports across Scotland’s post-16 education sector.

Location: Hybrid, with on-site presence 2–3 days per week at one of Borders College’s Galashiels Campus, Dumfries & Galloway College’s Stranraer Campus, Fife College’s Dunfermline Campus, or Glasgow Kelvin College’s Springburn Campus. Attendance at the Edinburgh office is required approximately once per month.

Salary: £38,784–£46,049 per year.

What you will do

  • Support strategic planning and delivery of external engagement across Scotland’s education and widening-access sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, local authorities, government, universities, representative bodies, and third-sector organisations.
  • Manage partner relationships and projects focused on educational pathways and student transitions.
  • Develop innovative partnership models, activities, events, promotional materials, and online communications.
  • Lead evaluation, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination of partnership outcomes.
  • Support budget monitoring, funding opportunities, proposals, committees, and strategic framework commitments.

Requirements

  • Experience managing, developing, and coordinating collaborative partnerships.
  • Experience leading projects, including reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Scotland’s post-16 education sector, including further and higher education, widening-access policy, and current policy drivers.
  • Understanding of the needs of part-time adult learners and the challenges of distance learning.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, organisational, decision-making, and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and resiliently across a diverse portfolio.

Nice to have

  • Experience with complex data sets.
  • Experience organising online and face-to-face events.
  • Project management experience in a further or higher education setting.
  • Additional understanding of distance learning.
