Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) - Launch Support (Automotive)

Location: Troy, Michigan, USA. Applicants must have permanent authorization to work full time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Drive supplier readiness from APQP through Job 1 across an assigned supplier portfolio.
• Manage PPAP submissions and approvals, launch readiness metrics, and supplier milestone tracking.
• Lead containment and corrective actions for launch-phase quality issues.
• Coordinate GP-12 and incoming inspection requirements, tooling readiness, and capacity confirmations.
• Conduct pre-launch audits, including VDA 6.3 or equivalent assessments.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to support a clean launch and transition to series production.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent working-level experience.
• 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience with direct involvement in vehicle or product launches.
• Experience with APQP management, PPAP approval authority, GP-12 or controlled shipping, and supplier readiness assessments.
• Ability to interpret GD&T and engineering drawings and work with dimensional reporting, MSA, and Cpk/Ppk requirements.
• Experience with varied components such as stampings, extrusions, seats, plastics, seals, and lighting.
• Permanent authorization to work full time in the United States is required.
