TL;DR
Quality Engineer (APQP) (Aerospace Manufacturing): Controlling and improving product and process quality in an aerospace manufacturing facility with an accent on AS9145 APQP, statistical analysis, audits, and corrective actions. Focus on leading process and product qualification, developing PFMEAs and Control Plans, analyzing process capability, and supporting compliance with defense and customer requirements.
Location: Elyria, Ohio, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

What you will do
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers to maintain product and process quality.
- Collect, analyze, and report production data, quality trends, nonconformances, and process capability results.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality issues.
- Lead qualification of product and process changes and approve quality-related ECOs, MCOs, deviations, and document updates.
- Develop and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, and Process Flow Diagrams, including sampling procedures and critical control points.
- Support aerospace, defense, and customer audits, failure analysis, reliability testing, and quality-system improvements.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of Quality Engineering experience.
- Proficiency with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA for AS9145 process control.
- BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- For roles requiring access to controlled data or information, only US Persons will be considered under ITAR.
- FAA-sensitive position that may require a government security investigation and random drug testing.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace or a similar manufacturing environment.
- ASQC Quality Engineer certification.
