Senior Customer Engineer SLED TX (Austin, Dallas or Houston)

Location: 100% remote, but candidates should reside in Texas; available locations are Austin, Dallas, or Houston. An in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub may be required at the offer stage.

Estimated annual compensation for Texas-based hires: $231,000–$275,000+ OTE, base plus commissions, with additional equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery, architecture design, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept for SLED and local government customers.
• Partner with Account Executives on onboarding, implementation, technical health, risk management, renewal, and account expansion.
• Design solutions across web security, networking, and developer platforms for public-sector procurement and compliance requirements.
• Own technical customer relationships, lead QBRs, and communicate business value and return on investment to government executives.
• Carry a revenue-aligned quota and identify cross-sell, up-sell, and adoption opportunities using product usage data.
• Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, security questionnaires, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring.

Requirements

• Experience working with or selling into SLED, local government, state, or municipal agencies is required.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Broad knowledge of web security, networking, routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment, including SaaS metrics and public-sector or enterprise sales cycles.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with government C-suite executives and elected officials.
• Must reside in Texas.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workers AI, AI Gateway, Vectorize, prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.
• Python, JavaScript, or similar scripting experience for integrations, API connectors, and edge functions.
