Embedded Software Senior Engineer (C/C++)

Location: On-site in Mossville, Illinois, United States. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The role requires 10% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Gather and analyze user and client needs to define software requirements for components and subsystems used across multiple products.
• Contribute to product and software architecture discussions and promote design consistency across products.
• Identify common issues, risks, and technical considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design, document, code, test, and validate production-quality C/C++ embedded software.
• Collaborate with embedded software, validation, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, application system design, and program specifications.
• Experience developing embedded software for RTOS and Linux environments.
• Proficiency with GoogleTest-based unit testing and embedded build-system workflows.
• Strong scripting and debugging skills using Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Git.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Lauterbach, and Rust.
• Experience working with open-source libraries.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
