Senior Project Engineer - CEI

Location: Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Venice, or Miami, Florida. This is primarily an outdoor field role supporting construction projects across the Western Florida area.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and support to regional Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) teams from pre-construction through final project acceptance.
• Lead roadway, bridge, drainage, earthwork, intersection improvement, resurfacing, and utility relocation projects for transportation agencies and municipalities.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, budgets, schedules, quality requirements, and internal procedures.
• Serve as project executive on multiple projects and guide project staff in establishing and maintaining project processes.
• Review and approve monthly CPM schedules, communicate with owners and contractors, and resolve complex contract challenges.
• Oversee administrative documentation and final estimate submissions throughout construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least ten years of construction inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, with strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; required certifications and qualification tests must be completed within specified time frames.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather and site conditions and perform the required physical activities, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 pounds.
