Senior Construction Inspector - Landscape

Location: Jacksonville, Florida or Gainesville, Florida; field-based outdoor work with occasional nighttime hours

What you will do

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work for compliance with schedules, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Measure completed work, calculate pay items, report daily production, and maintain inspector daily reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and prepare as-constructed sketches.
• Coordinate field activities and inspection phases with the contractor's superintendent, agency personnel, and administrative staff.
• Lead field staff meetings, delegate responsibilities, allocate resources, and assist with training junior inspectors.
• Support project procedures and documentation for final estimate packages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least four years of construction inspection experience, including two years in bridge or roadway construction inspection; or a civil/construction engineering degree with one year of road and bridge CEI experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• FNGLA Technician and Horticultural certifications, plus MOT Advanced Certification.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazardous conditions, and near bodies of water, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 35 pounds.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks is required.
