Manager, Construction Services (Construction Materials Testing)

Location: Michigan, United States; travel to project sites throughout Michigan is required.

Testing Engineers & Consultants provides construction materials testing, special inspection, geotechnical, environmental, building, and related technical services.

What you will do

• Lead the Construction Services team, including project managers, inspectors, field technicians, and laboratory personnel.
• Oversee construction materials testing and special inspection projects from proposal through completion.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, performance, documentation, and client satisfaction.
• Act as a senior contact for clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and public agencies.
• Review proposals, scopes, fees, and contracts while supporting business development and cross-disciplinary opportunities.
• Coordinate field and laboratory resources, resolve technical and scheduling issues, and support staff recruitment and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or a related field.
• Experience managing construction projects, personnel, and client relationships.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials testing and inspection practices, including concrete, soils, aggregate, asphalt, masonry, or structural special inspections.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Michigan required.

Nice to have

• Experience with MDOT projects or public-sector construction.
• ACI, NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, MDOT, or other relevant certifications.
