Night Shift Construction Inspector

Location: Washington, 20024; full-time onsite night shift. Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM.

Salary: $104,000. The posting also lists $124,800.

What you will do

• Perform nighttime field inspections of earthwork, paving, utilities, structural components, materials, and installation practices.
• Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, codes, contract documents, safety plans, and OSHA requirements.
• Witness field testing and review material certifications and test reports.
• Maintain daily inspection reports covering quantities, manpower, equipment, weather, progress, and photographic records.
• Inspect work zones and temporary traffic control devices while promoting safe, zero-incident construction operations.
• Coordinate with contractors, project managers, engineers, utility companies, and clients during nightly meetings and project updates.

Requirements

• Full-time onsite availability for the Monday–Thursday night schedule is required.
• At least 10 years of construction inspection experience on building, civil infrastructure, or public works projects.
• Experience working independently during night shift operations.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction plans, specifications, OSHA safety requirements, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic project documentation systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors, walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods.
